Voice of the Ground

Hmm-mm, hmm-mm Can you hear it? The ground is speaking Can you feel it? The earth is breathing From the Cape to the Cairo sky From the ocean to the mountain high From the Sahara golden wide To the Nile that carries life From Kilimanjaro standing tall To Victoria Falls where waters call Across the plains, the wild ones run Under the African golden sun Lions roar, elephants move Leopards hide where shadows groove Zebras run, the journey goes Millions move where the river flows Different roots, one heartbeat Different voices, one heartbeat Different colors, one fire Different nations, rising higher Africa, Africa Hear our voices rise Africa, Africa We are one under the sky Eh-oh, eh-oh Africa Eh-oh, eh-oh Africa Ancient stones beneath the sun Pyramids where kingdoms come From the cradle where life began We carry the story of who we are We remember where we came from We remember who we are Every scar became a story Every dream became a star From Ethiopia, coffee grows A gift that the whole world knows From ancient songs to modern sound African rhythm travels around Jazz and blues, our echoes fly Afrobeats rising to the sky Many cultures, many ways Many stories, many names Many voices, one heartbeat Many cultures, one heartbeat Many colors, one fire Many nations, rising higher Africa, Africa Hear our voices rise Africa, Africa We are one under the sky Eh-oh, eh-oh Africa Eh-oh, eh-oh Africa We are children of tomorrow We are builders of the day With our knowledge, with our courage We will find a better way From the village to the city From the classroom to the sky Let the African dream awaken Let the African spirit rise Can you hear it? We hear it Can you feel it? We feel it Can you see it? We see it Who are we? Africa From the desert to the ocean From the forest to the plain From the mountains to the rivers We rise again and again One heart One fire One dream One Africa One heart One fire One dream One Africa Africa, Africa Hear our voices rise Africa, Africa We are one under the sky Eh-oh, eh-oh Africa Eh-oh, eh-oh Africa Hmm-mm, hmm-mm The ground is speaking Hmm-mm, hmm-mm Our story lives forever Africa together Africa forever

Voice of the Ground is an original Africa music project created to celebrate Africa’s natural beauty, ancient history, cultural heritage, diversity, resilience, and future. Inspired by Africa’s landscapes, wildlife, civilizations, musical traditions, and global cultural contributions, the project aims to show Africa through a message of strength, pride, unity, and hope. The process began with an atmospheric musical idea featuring African percussion and a chanted introduction, which was then refined into a stronger combination and arrangement with modern production, cinematic elements, call-and-response vocals, and a more memorable chorus. The lyrics were developed as a journey across Africa from the Sahara, Nile, Kilimanjaro, and Victoria Falls to ancient civilizations, African music, coffee, and the dreams of its younger generation ending with a powerful message of unity: different roots, one heartbeat, one fire, one dream, one Africa.
